Drug Screening Laboratory

Overview

The Drug Screening Laboratory began in 2007 to provide drug screening services to Hall County’s accountability court programs. In addition, the Lab provides drug screening services for the court system, Hall County Human Resources, the Department of Family and Children Services, and other agencies.

The Drug Screening Laboratory utilizes a Beckman Coulter AU680 Analyzer and Siemens’ drugs-of-abuse testing assays to conduct urinalysis drug screening. The instrument is a chemistry-immuno analyzer run by trained and certified lab technicians.

The Treatment Services Drug Testing Laboratory understands the drug-testing procedure must be certain in order to ensure the reliability and validity of a urinalysis testing process. As a result, the Drug Testing Laboratory utilizes direct observation of urine sample collection by trained, like-gender technicians when specimens are collected on site. Direct observation of urine collection safeguards against possible tampering, substitution, and adulteration of urine specimens.
