Dawson County Extension Office

The Dawson County Extension is part of the University of Georgia’s Cooperative Extension in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Our mission is to extend lifelong learning to Georgia citizens through unbiased, research-based education in agriculture, the environment, communities, youth, and families.

Agriculture has been, is and will continue to be an important sector of the economic base of Dawson County. The following test and information are available:

4-H/Youth

4-H Assists young people to acquire knowledge, develop life skills, and form attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive and contributing members of society through “hands-on” learning experiences. It provide opportunities to youth in community involvements, camps, judging teams, district activities, local activities, day trips, in-school club meetings, and many other activities for youth. 4-H is available to any child who is 9-19 years old.
